From Self-Sabotage to Self-Love

Is Self-Love top of your priorities?

Ouch! I often find Self-Sabotage an easier option 😂

Be quiet, don’t make a fuss.

Don’t rock the boat, stay out of trouble, do as you’re told.

You’re not good enough.

Stay small, stay safe.

I was delighted to be invited to share Garden Party wisdom on this panel discussion hosted by the Women’s Empowerment Program from Sacred U Community

This topic of self-love and self-sabotage covers many areas of our lives. Often, when we are doing well in certain areas of our lives, we tend to focus our energy and attention on them. We feel motivated, inspired, and fulfilled. However, other areas of our lives may get neglected, as we struggle to find the time, willpower, or energy to help them thrive.

The interesting thing is that whether we allow ourselves to grow and develop or keep ourselves stuck, it all stems from the same pathways in the brain. It can be challenging to understand why we sometimes hold ourselves back from reaching our full potential. However, recognizing the unconscious needs that drive our behaviour can help us gain clarity and move forward towards a more fulfilling life.

One of the most critical components of this process is learning to love ourselves. Self-love is about accepting ourselves as we are, being kind and compassionate to ourselves, and believing in our ability to succeed. When we love ourselves, we are more likely to take care of ourselves and invest in our growth and development.

On the other hand, self-sabotage can take many forms, such as procrastination, negative self-talk, or self-destructive behaviour. It often stems from fear and insecurity, and it can hold us back from achieving our goals and living the life we want.

The good news is that self-sabotage is not permanent, and it can be overcome. By identifying our self-sabotaging behaviour and the root causes behind it, we can take steps towards changing our mindset and behaviour. We can learn to replace negative thoughts with positive ones, set achievable goals, and celebrate our successes, no matter how small.

Learning to love ourselves and overcoming self-sabotage can be challenging, but it is essential for living a fulfilling life. By recognizing the patterns that hold us back and replacing them with positive ones, we can unleash our full potential and achieve our dreams.

So if you missed the live…
